These are a few of the images/pages in the bookwork LUCK(y) on Broadway.
This small accordion folded piece, created in October 2005, was one of my earlier bookworks.
With my camera I walked along Broadway Street in Vancouver, where I was living at the time . . . walking from Alma Street to Main Street, and back again . . . photographing each maneki neko (good luck cat) that I saw on route.
I used the photographs taken on the north side of the street for the front side of the bookwork and the photographs taken on the south side of the street for the back. In this way, the number of maneki neko determined the overall length of the bookwork.
